Abstract
This study aims to analyze the causes, mechanisms, and consequences of the 1997 Asian financial crisis. The article will discuss the main theories concerning financial crises, the specific economic situation in Asian countries before the crisis, as well as the internal and external factors that contributed to its outbreak and spread. In addition, the effects of the crisis on individual countries in the region and attempts to repair the economic situation will be analyzed.
