Abstract

The article is polemic in nature and it aims at an attempt to have a bit
different look at political transformation processes, Europeanization and
democratisation in the new European Union Member States, i.e. Bulgaria,
Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia,
and their results presented by a Hungarian political studies expert, Professor
Attila Ágh, in his article entitled The Rocky Road of Europeanization
in the New Member States: From the democracy to the second try of democratization,
published in the quarterly „Polish Sociological Review”, No. 1 (193)
2016. This interesting article has – in my opinion – some methodological and
factual weak points. Moreover, it contains numerous theses and hypotheses
that I believe are debatable and need further empiric research.
